After explaining why needed, ask for year of birth

The year we were born is one of the very few things we cannot change about ourselves. It's important for us that this service is within the law, and therefore we ask that everyone confirms that they are legally adult, by entering their year of birth here. This will never be disclosed directly to anyone, but will only be used when someone is looking for another person within a particular age range.

If you don't want your age to count in any enquiry, you can mute your year of birth from that enquiry. However, your enquiry will then not fit another enquiry that requires an age range.

Please take care here. When you meet someone in person, they may ask for proof of your age, and that must match what you enter here. It cannot be changed. If you make a mistake, you will need to delete your whole account and start again.
